1. Yorks Cafe & Coffee Roasters

There are two York’s cafes in Birmingham – one on Stephenson Street just around the corner from New Street Station, and another in the Ikon Gallery in Brindleyplace. Both serve excellent coffee and super interesting brunch options. The brunch menu features delights such as Arabian Buttered Eggs, Marrakech Avocado Toast, and Fried Chicken and French Toast.

2. Wayland’s Yard

Wayland’s Yard is a speciality coffee and independent cafe in Birmingham city centre, not far from Snow Hill station. They offer single origin beans roasted by  Odd Kin Coffee Roasters. Brunch specialities include eggy crumpets, fried chicken crumpets, mac and cheese, brunch burgers, and buttermilk pancakes.

Located on the corner of Temple Row and Great Western Arcade, Morridge is essentially a porridge cafe! Decked out in retro decor, this coffee shop offers porridge with a range of fancy toppings such as apple, ginger, mulled figs and honeycomb. Or perhaps you might like the morello cherry compote, dark chocolate, canilla date caramel, and toasted almonds topping. Other brunch options include granola, breakfast baps, and pancakes.

4. Medicine Bakery

There are two locations for Medicine Bakery – New Street and in the Mailbox shopping centre.  Medicine is an artisan bakery, cafe, and gallery. Get a delicious coffee and pastry from the bakery. For a heartier brunch there is an extensive brunch menu with delights such as variations on an eggs benedict, brioche breakfast buns and pancakes. There are also specialities such as green masala eggs and huervos rancheros.

5. Dishoom

Probably our favourite thing about Dishoom is the brunch menu. This popular Indian restaurant serves up delicious breakfast dishes such as Akuri – spiced eggs, Kejriwal – eggs on chilli cheese toast, and the infamous Naan rolls filled with either bacon, sausage, egg, with cream cheese and chilli jam. Wash it down with a hot glass of chai. Oh, and at breakfast time the chai is bottomless!

6. Damascena Birmingham City Centre

Birmingham favourite Damascena is a Middle Eastern coffee shop with five locations across the city. For brunch at Damascena try authentic Middle Eastern dishes such as the baked egg manakish, or juz-muz – both eggs based dishes filled with flavour.
